Dear Dr. Andersson:- It gives me much pleasure to ac- knowledge your very kind letter of the 27th of April, and also the circular of the XIIIe Congress Inter- national äd'Histoire de 1'Aft. I can not tell you how deeply I appreciate your invitation to visit the exhibitions which your Museum is holding early in the coming September. TI only wish I might accept. I should try to do so were it not that the Trans-Siberian Railway is at present inter- rupted; but as things are, I fear that my coming to Stockholm this year is out of the questions. You have, however, made your Museum of such fun- damental importance to any reasoned study of the development of culture in Central and Far Eastern Asia that I hope to visit it in the very near future. May I avail myself of this opportunity to tell you how helpful I find your "Bulletin"? In this connection I would mention in particular your excellent paper, "Der Weg uber die Steppen", which I have read more than once. I wonder whether you would be good enough to tell
