Dear Doktor Mueller, I have to thank you most sincerely for your kind letter of oktober l0:th, accompanied by thértheen photographs depicting a Scythian bronze-deer and Kansu prehistoric pottery. The deer-picture I have shown to Professor Siren who is in charge of Chinese sculpture here in Stockholm. He is soon going to th East and may negociate the matter with you if the specimen is still in your hands at the time of his arrival. 3 I was very interested to see your beautiful photos of the Kansusceramics. However, with the exeption of one or two which differ slightly from our material, all the rest are represented by identi cal specimens in our collections. Without buying the specimens I would be very glad to be allowed to keep the photos upon the expressed condi- tion that they will be used only for study within our institute and not published exept after having obtained your permission in each individual Case. Can you grant us this favour and allow me to recompensate you for the photographs. We are brlransly interested in the small Scythian bron- 2es and will be very glad to byy any specimens which are new to our collection.
