The villager's wife, gama gäni (Sin.). A mask of the small variety, referred to as käta muna, käta munu, or käta muhunak (Sin.), used to represent stock type characters.
Context
Appears in the company of her husband, gamaya (Sin.)(1916.9.138) in the story portion of Kolam.
Material
Wood, vel-kaduru (Sin.) (Nux vomica).
Iconography
A broad, flat mask, whitish yellow in complexion. The hair is parted and plaited tresses are drawn on the sides. The ears are small, crudely sculpted and fixed separately. The mouth is small and closed, the lips painted in red. Semi-circular eyebrows in black.
