These are obviously Armenoids, but they -are not the type of figurine that I hed in mind when I wrote to you of peådlars. I meant the men stooping forwerd with a pack on the back, as No.196, P1.35, vol.l of the Eumorfopoulos catalogue. I don 't want to bother you nyw at Easter, but if later you could let me have photographs showing the physical types of these I should be very grateful. Now about Ting and his photographs. He wrote to me some time ago that he was too busy to go on with the book. I gathereåd that he was doing a good deal of Government work, and he also said that he had had serious financial losses so that he had to attend to professional affairs more closely than hitherto. I want you thoroughly to realize that there is no guestion of any disagreement between us, as your action with regarå to the photographs might perhaps suggest. I was indeed extremely sorry when he askedto be released from his agreement. I return the set of photogrephs that you sent me for use in the book when Ting was writing it; I hope however that the paragraph in your letter does not mean that you entirely refuse the assistance of the most importent museum of Eastern Archaeology with regard to the book thet I am editing.
