00852 Östasiatiska Samlingarna, Sveavägen 65, Stockholm. February, 18 ,1928 Baron RR: von Campenhåusen, Hamburger Strasse 3, Mezapark,Riga, Lettland. Dear. Baron, I have to thank you for your two kind letters of the Åtn and l2th insts., the first one containing Professor ”s "Pundbericht", the” second one eight photos illustrating the Minzloff collection. The documents put at my disposal, together with the photo- graphs, have enabled me to form a very definite opinion about the collection. Apart from the objects upon plates I and II, which are mostly comparatively modern things, the main part of the collection consists, as stated by Professor Minzloff, of objects from the Siberian Bronze and Iron Ages, They are mostly of the common types such as are well known from the Minoussinsk Museum and from various other collec- tions. To judge from the photographs, there are only very few speci- mens which offer considerable art value. Most of them are relatively plain tnings, Howewer, we are earnestly interested in buying the collec- tion provided that the price is moderate, I would hardly think it necessary for me to go over to Riga to see these things, neither for you to bring them here. It seems to me that the consignment, 1if fully insured, can safely be sent here, I now write also to Mr. Undén, our Minister in Riga, asking him to arrange with you for the safe conduct of the material from Riga to Stockholm. All the cost for packing, in- surance, transportation and eventual return to RASA will be carried by us, so I feel that Professor Minzloff and you are entirely on the safe side with such an arrangement,
