Jfr AE Fn Ac Mn HR ff 2 | The Geological Survey 2 3, Feng - Sheng Hutung, W. Peking, China (China) become purely nominal. Some mining conpanies promised to contribute certain sun for our museun extension which is however not yet carried out owing to the öv bal con- ditions in North China from which the mining induetry greatly suffers. I hope however it mey be gradually carried out. Your help will be greatly needeå in our museun work. & large portion of the indemnity fund is being used to organize a large library in Peking with lir. Liang Onhi Chiao as first director and Prof. J. S. Lee as second. This library will be very useful to us as we can me&ke then buy all necessary literature which may be out. of the SC Ope of the Survey library. Prof. P. D. Quensel came here about one week ago and is now in Shansl. It was toa late for the annual mneet- ing of the Geological Society. But I hope he will consent to give a lecture when he comes back. I have been glad torheer from Prof. Quensel that Dr. Halle's study ön the Paleozoic plants of Shansi will be goon ready for the Palaeontologia Sinic&. I an very aörry tat we have not yet printed hig paper on the plant fossils from 3. W. China although we have the pletes ready long ego. The delay is due to the fact that Dr. Ting insistea to g0 over the manuscript hinself and make & few alteretions or notices.
