Cleaning and conservation report. D-nr 16454012, 8.09.95. I.1 Condition description/ Corrosion. Objects are complete; they have strong metallic cores, which represent the original shapes and surface features. Corrosion products on surface are dark green, uneven, mixed with dirt, sand and dust, peeling in places. Surface corrosion layer is rather thin, hard, with bumps in some spots. This layer is partially missing on all objects, exposing the smooth surface underneath. Those separate surface bumps are filled with light grey, hard waxy substance. Underneath there is the original surface layer, mainly represented by dark brown, almost black in places, copper oxide. Original surfaces are smooth, and in MMLur: 95 has almost polished appearance. MMLur: 95 and 99 have well preserved, fine surface ornamentations. Treatment: all are cleaned mechanically with scalpel, hard bristle brush and soft small rotating steel brush, under the microscope. Surface corrosion is removed as close as possible to the original surfaces. Objects are lightly polished with a soft bristle brush and beeswax.
