The mask depicts a rustic villager.
Context
The story portion in Kolam.
Material
Wood, vel-kaduru (Sin.) (Nux vomica).
Iconography
An excessive coating of ash-brown, alu pata (Sin.), has been applied on the face. The face is broad but not many iconographical details are noticed. The ears are carved separately and attached to the sides of the face at an unnatural height. The slanting mouth is open. Two teeth in the form of the eye-teeth of a demon figure are cut together with two smaller teeth. The paint on the nose and on one eye is scraped. Black paint, to denote the hair on the head, has been erased.
