I would like to avail of this opportunity of infoming you, that at present I am also collecting Japanese pre-historic objects, such as Jänon clay figures and proto-historic objects (Period of Ancient Burial Mounds), such as beads, Magatama (coma—shaped or curved beads) and Haniwa tomb
figures,
Are you perhaps acquainted with Otsu—e (the letter tie" rneæing picture), being paintings on paper, which vere
made around ötsu near Kyoto, about 250 years ago.
Also old "Ema" or paintings on wood, being votive pictures, although somewhat primitive in its appearance, are of great artistic value.
Should there be anything else in which you may take a particular interest, kindly inform me about this, as I shall be glad to be of any assistance to you during my stay in Japan.
