I sgree with you that generally speaking the alter- etions in the text under the spectrogreams are not important, but there ie one exceptior. In the fifth line from the top the number of the besad is given in parentheses as 5.2566. Thie should be B.2566. Cannot your printer manage to-alter the 5. to B.? It is really necessary, ac otherwise the whole series of beads, of the spectra, the teblesg, & the text, will be fsulty & so badly incorrect thet resåers will notåse it & will not understend what has happened. If this alteration cannot be made, will you please heve a slip put just before the epectrogram fälder, gaying "line 5 of legend under ö spectrogram, for "(8.2566)", read "(B.2566)". With regard to the proofs of the paper, I have just had these beck from Beck, & we shall no doubt säjust the slight salterations he suggests within the next few days. Do you want the proofs back? 1t geeme to me that you had better let me keep them until you can send me proofs of the tables & of the firet 3 colour plates.
