0230. 304h March 1936 Court Leys, Toot Baldon, Oxford. SDesr Professor Andersson, Thank you for your letter of Karch 27th. I think it is quite elear that we could not have our paper ready by the end of June. We will therefore spend rather longer in prepering it, & let you heve it in good time for printing in the spring number of next year. I agrse that many of the beads are from Chin Tsun. I csnnot say on present evidence, that some of the believed Chin Teun beads that we PEvAETEN not be as early as the Sth or 6th century B.C.- without ERE Nere strong opinion on these points I ehoulå have thought NE ES or 5th century wac the earltest date. At sny rate we can put them at early Han,or earlier. One thing I think is certain, thet some of these beade ere roughly.of the same date as the glazei clay vessels(Ho.118) of the Chinese Exhibition cstalogue, which is söteibuteg tor bäcigs rien St Narringibtateps CER SAG FS Did you, as egpecially interested in gold work, study Stoclet's bronze, No.406, which has macsive glass eppliqué, the glass being composed of eye bead patterns? I have hendleåd this specimen in Byruseels, when I thought it was not earlier than Han. Heve you any surgestions to give me sbout it? With best regerds, Youre sinrcerely, Professor J.G.Andereson, Ostasieatiska Semlingarna, Sveavagen 65, Stockholm.
