"This saddle is made of the very best quality wood for saddles and is made in Urga, it is very stylish in Mongolia to have a saddle with a very small seat and very short, the saddle in put as much to the front as possible on the withers so as to show as much of the back of the horse as possible. A Mongol loves to look back from his saddle and see an extreemely long back behind him.
Some saddles in Mongolia are made of four pieces of wood others are made of two pieces, of course all Mongols prefer two piece saddles, but these are very few. This saddle represents expensive and high class saddle.

leather under the saddle is - `Gullum´
a decorated saddle leather is - `åggeltsté gullum´ (this saddle leather is made in Kalgan after Urga or Outer Mongolian design.)
The felt under the `Gullum´is called `Shirtick´ it is bordered with Thibetan cloth called `Tsimbu´.

I nuvarande skick finns endast en rem med spänne av järn. Spännet har sytts fast vid remmen. Remmen är röd på insidan och har blåaktiga kanter. Sadeln saknas i nuvarande skick. (AA)
