Kimonon har inga fickor. Kvinnor kunde stoppa småsaker i ärmar och i bältet. Dosor, pipor och penselfodral kunde hängas på en snodd från bältet, fästade med en bältesknapp (netsuke). Utseendet på accessoarerna varierade efter bärarens smak, ekonomi och modetrender. Mest kända är inro som främst användes för medicinförvaring.

The kimono has no pockets. Instead women would put small objects in their sleeves and sashes. They could also hang various boxes, pipes and brush cases on a cord from the sash, fastened with a toggle (netsuke). The look of these accessories varied according to the taste and wealth of the wearer, as well as fashion. The accessory that is best known is the inro, which is mostly used to hold medicine.
