Neck amphora; everted, horizontal rim with herring bone pattern on the top; local imitation of lotus-palmette decoration on neck; a line of dots separating the neck from the shoulder; vertical handles attached to neck and underside of rim no the one hand and the shoulder on the other; exterior of handles and area surrounding the handles on the shoulder painted black; in each of the shoulder fields a lioness rushing forward to the left is depicted, in black glaze and incision; two black bands separate the shoulder fields and the belly frieze; on the belly frieze we see four sphinxes and a siren pursuing each other to the left, in black glaze and incision; below the belly frieze are two more black bands and the rest of the vase is black glazed including the echinus-shaped foot. Reddish yellow clay.
