fåren rear Fan bang saa L x 0158 Stockholm March 31st 1926, Mr. RebLe Ho bson Keeper of the Department of CGeramics and Ethnography,British Museum, Lön don W.ö. 1, Dear Mr. Hobsons I have been away from Stockholm for some time lecturing in several other cities and this is the reason, why I have not been able to reply long ago to your exceedingly kind letter of February 9th. It is much too kind of you to express your satis- faction with the visit to Stockholm. We 21l know that all the gratitude rests with us, as we are deeply indebted to you for the powerful support which your high authority gave te our efforts” upon a more permanent basis, Furthermore tt was to me of the highest importance to get the privilege of meeting you and dis- Ccuss ing our prehistoric materials I am $specially happy to tell you that our efforts have been entirely successful. The Parliament has voted the ne- Ccessary funds for obtalning spacious and comfortable quarters where to exhibit the specimens properly and studying them under most favourable circwunstances. I have also been given 20,000 crowns for founding a small research library and a position has been given to me which will allow me to Carry on research work under mest favourable . I am Well aware that the success of our effortg is due largely to the splendid support which you so kindly gxtended to us and I am delighted to present to you my host respectfwu thanks. / 8 to my plan of visiting London I am afraid that tne scheme must be postponed for some time. Recently the Crown- prince asked meg whether I would be in the position to meet him in Peking, and Ä am naturally delighted to do so.. I p1 to leave here about the 1l5th of August and will not be back in Stock- holm until February or March next years, so the London visit has to be postponed for some time. unrditimd ma It is extreemly kind of you to promise to send us pot-sherds from Near East sides and we will naturally be de- lighted to receive them at any timee when 1t is convenient for you
