It is composed of twenty-four oval, triple-nerved laeves of gold foil, arranged in three rows on either side of a central rosette consistning of a round boss encircled by two sets of petals, between six radiating triple-nerved leaves. The leaves and the rosettes are sewn with wires to a ribbon of thin gold sheet, the rounded ends of which are stamped with a design now mostly effaced by crushing, with the exception of two small Gorgoneia, set transversely and turned in opposite directions. The ends of the diadem are pierced for a string which passed round the back of the head and held the wreath in place above the forehead.

Earlier inv.nr. CK 339. Gold wreaths of this type were highly in vogue in Etruria during the fourth century and later, to judge from the great number of Etruscan depictions representing gods and goddesses, men and women, wearing such ornaments. A considerable number of wreaths of this type has been preserved.
