ÖUca Stockholm May 28,1927 Vr Percival Yetts. LONDON. | Na 1 UA CSN Dear Vr Yetts, I learn from Mr Palmgfen, my collaborator, of tne very friendly and helpful reception which you accorded to nån during his visit to stöden, and I wish to thank you most cordially for this support to our institution. | After consultation with Mr Falmgren I take the liberty to approach you in a matter which is very urgent to us at present. RS A very beautiful bronze bell has come in my way, and I have for the present an option on SY 2 at H.R. H. The Crownprince of the Sweden saw the bell when he våg (ba) En Peking and was very favourably impressed, but he is very careful and wants all information that we can possibly gather on the matter. We are of the opinion that the bell is either an original, dating probably from Tsin or Han, or otherwise and exceedingly well made recasting from a very fine original. The surface and specially the patina seems to support the first opinion. ; Granted that the specimen now offered to us is a replica of an earlier orfffinal, it seems quite probable that such a fine specimen must be known to experts on Chinese bronzes, So I take the liberty of sending you two photographs of the bell endå a kindly to inform me whether you know any svecimen that could possibly as original to our specimen.
