You - wine vessel, with lid and handle, for sacrificial use. Bronze. S-formed profile. Elliptical cross-section. Domed-shaped lid with a knob. Belts of decoration along neck and foot of the vessel showing the "cloud and thunder" pattern (yunleiwen). Low flanges at the center of the neck. The lid with a dragon pattern against a background of scales and "cloud and thunder"-pattern (yunleiwen). To the lid is fastened a dragon with a loop-formed tail - probably originally a device for fastening a chain to the lid. The handle has a lozenge pattern ending in an animal head at each side.
Shang, Early / Middle Anyang period
Grey, green, blue and red patina.
