Loo, I thank you most sincerely for this splendid eceontribution to our library. The reason of my long delay ån thanking you 1s simply that I have been 111 for several months and had to be taken to a hospital for treatment. Kindly forgive me this very long delay in writing you. It goes without saying that I have read the book with keenest attention. We all who are interested in the study of the Ordos. bronzes have to thank you most sincerely for this splendid contri= bution to the knowledge of these bronzes. However, you are certainly not unprepared to learn, that I am highly reserved with reference to Salmonys dating of these bronzes. He 1s certainly fully justified in pointing out that a degenerate animal style has survived far into the first millenhium A.D. but I feel very definitely that the big bulk of your real Ordos-bronzes has been by the author dated much too late and that his dating as a
