den 31 december 1929. (MLK) Gösta Montell och Edward Tesdorpf befann sig i Serin-gol detta datum. Gösta Montell berättar: "I...made a short trip up to Mongolia together with a young Danish estate-owner of the name EDWARD TESDORPF. ...we set out three days before New Year´s Eve. The chauffeur was Chinese and we also had a Mongolian lama called CHAGDUR, LARSON´s faithful servant. ...we drove though the strange country north of Kalgan....
The following day...we....reached the little town of Chang-pei-hsien...
We had made up our minds to try to reach the Swedish mission station Khadain-sume (Hattin sum), which was the goal of our journey, the same evening...when the car suddenly stopped.....
Fortunately there was a Mongol camp near by and we were able, with the help of the kindly members of the camp, to push the car there. Our hosts were Chakhar Mongols and their yurts were small and dirty. We clearly observed that the people in these parts suffer exceedingly from the cold since the mongols have been driven northwards where the pasture is not sufficient for big herds of cattle....
We were recieved with Mongolian hospitality and were soon able to wrap ourselves up in sheepskins on the floor of the small tent..The first thing we did the following morning was to examine the car. The chauffeur...said that he could not do anything... All we knew with certainty was that we could not stop here at Serin-gol,...After some time we succeded in hiring a man who rode to the mission station with a letter to JOEL ERIKSSON asking for help.
We past the day waiting and studying the life in the camp." (Montell. 1945. s. 335f)
