This crown-like headdress, called jokduri in Korean, is hexagonal-shaped at the top and constricts gradually towards the bottom which has a cylindrical shape. It is made of paper covered with black silk. The interior is hollow and lined with a layer of red paper. The top and sides of the crown are decorated with a design made from strips of gold paper. The front has a floral motif made from red, blue and gold paper. Jokduri were worn by women during ceremonies such as weddings. Some types of jokduri were richly adorned with decorative ornaments made from semi-precious stones and other materials. Jokduri is still used today in Korea during parts of the wedding ceremony.
