Ask med lock av sköldpaddskal, från Kina. Hela asken är dekorerad i utskuren relief med figur- och landskapsscener. På lockets insidan finns ingraverad inskriptionen “Presented to W.G. Barnes by W. Dallas as a token of Sincere Regard 1825”. På askens insida finns ingraverad inskriptionen: “Presented to H.M. King Gustaf VI of Sweden by Sir John Pagan Agent General for New South Wales November 1972”.

Enligt katalogkort: “Chinese tortoiseshell box and cover. Period: Late 18th century. Description: Shallow waisted cylindrical; the outsides carved in crisp high relief with an all-over design of figures of trademen and quality about their daily life amongst buildings and trees; the sides with formal flower heads and a continous landscape between bamboo stalk and borders. The shell of dark colour, with two English inscriptions on the insides of the lid and base. Measures: D 110mm, H. 32 mm. Purchased: Bequest of H.M. King Gustaf VI Adolf. No 2644.”
