Dear Dr. Andersson, In reply to your welcome letter of the ISth. inst. pray express my great appreciation of His' Royal Highness! gracious message. I would specially value the privilege of attending the Congress and seeing your Exhibition; but unfortunately pressure of work and other reasons make it impossible. I have to finish the 4th. volume of the Eumorfopoulos Collection Catalogue and also attend to my Teaching duties, and so I fear I Bhall have no chance of a holiday this year. Please do not think that I am remiss in not having answered before this your kind letter of the 27th. April accompanying the most welcome packet of 107 photographs. The delay in writing to thank you for the photographs and also for your kind congratulations has been occasioned through the difficulty in discovering how many photographs I could collect in exchange. The problem of finding so many that might be of interest to you is a serious one because I have no large collection like yours to draw upon, and, as doubtless you know, there are very few photographs available of objects in the British Museum and other English collections. TI am, therefore, doing my best to get together as many as possible; but I fear it will take time. I shall include among them the photographs of animal style pieces in the Eumorfopoulos collection. As soon as Mr. Eumorfopoulos returns to England, I shall show him your letter and obtain his permission. In spite of my best efforts, I fear I may not be able to collect a sufficient number of photographs to constitute a suitable

Ove exchange. = I wonder , therefore, whether you would be willing to regard as part of the exchange the two copies of your Bulletin No. 4 which otherwise would come to me in due course. You remember that we agreed on an exchange of the Bulletin for the Burlington Magazine which is sent to you on my behalf. Also I föder sfocd from your letter of the I6th. August last year that an ordinary copy of No. 4 would be sent to me as a subscriber to the edition de luxe.
