0135 / Sir Percival David, / Friar Park, / Henley-on-Thames, / England / Dear Sir Percival, / Mr. Karlbeck has reported to us that you would like to have his assistance during his coming visit to China for the purpose of obtaining for your collection three or four specimens of Sung-ceramics. I furthermore understand that a description of the said specimens is fully given by you to Mr. Karlbeck and that he has been informed by you about the present owners of the specimens in question. / Your suggestion has been forwarded to H. R. H. the Crown Prince and to Mr. Lagrelius, our treasurer. It has been agreed upon to suggest to you the following arrangement. / 1. Mr. Karlbeck will undertake to execute to his best ability the instractions which you have given to him. / 2. The daily cost for Mr. Karlbecks maintenance during his collectingexpedition / Salary, travelling-expenses ets.,/ is calculated to 120 Swedish erowns / = xxx 6. 12. 10./ You are expected to refund to the syndicate the actual expences counted upon this said basis, for the number of days, which Mr. Karlbeck has spent in your service.

Provided that Mr. Karlbeck can obtain for you at least one of the said pieces at a price thet is fully to your satisfaction, this Museum will be very grateful to receive from you, in consideration of the services rendered to you by our representative Mr. Karlbeck, a contribution of 50£, that is the sum which ordinary shareholders have agreed to present to the Museum. / 4. It is agreed upon that all questions concerning the identification of your desired specimens, prices of the same, packing, insurance, transportation etc., is a matter between yourself and Mr. Karlbeck and that the syndicete takes no responsibilities in these respects. / Hoping to obtain your kind approval of the above suggestions I have the honor to remain / Yours very sincerely
