Dear Doctor Ting, I have for some time been weiting for an opportunity to show you some little token of our gratitude for the very splendid help that you have rendered us by buylng for us all that splendid collection of Chinese books. A young Swedish lady artist has during the lest few years developed a rather flourishing industry in Swedish pewter objects. She has come repeatedly to study our collections and selected especially among the small bronzes of the Eurasiar enimal style a number of objects which she has copied quite successfully. I take the pleasure of sendålng you & cigarette box, on the lid of whiehk you will find attached as handle one of the besutfful animals of the sald art style. I would feel very happy to learn that you have found it worthy of holding your daily supply of cigarettes, I also enclose in the samé box a circuler mirror with the handle copied from a small Chinese bronze. I ask Mrs, Ting kindly to accept tnis little object as a recollection of the Andersson family. During his season in Stockholm in the beginning of this year Professor Karlgren labeled and catalogued the Chinese library which you
