0562. THE NATIONAL GEOLOGICAL SURVEY OF CHINA 9 PING MA SSU, W. PEIPING CHINA 24 MäyrT9RÖL Prof. B. Karlgren, Department of Sinology, The University, Gothenburg, Sweden. My dear Prof. Karlgren, I am in receipt of your letter of the 26th April. As I have indicated in my last letter I sent the last lot of books both for vourself and Dr. Andersson through the post as it is quicker and (for small parcels/! not so much more expensive. Full lists were enclosed and I hope to hear from you when the books have been received. | ÅR = As regard to the other books I have bought FEET for you because it contains not only zE AE but also LE STAG by the same author. Each has 4 chapters, Otherwise I have failed entirely to get any books on your list. I am still pressining the booksellers, but they are pessimistic about obtaining most of them. It is a great pleasure to buy these books for you, for it gives me the opportunity to lock over them myself which I would never have done otherwise, I am also very much interested in your work and am only tooglad to do something to help. I sent Dr. Andersson a small paperå of mine on the Language of the Chuang Tribe in N. Kwangsi, ask- ing him to forward it to you for publication. I shall be very glad to recelve your eriticism, I nhnave just recelveå Granet's La Civi- lisation Chinolse and have not yet had time to read. I have looked through his bibliography and have made out a list of books which I have not got or-are not in the libraries here, Will you kindly look over it and advise whether I should buy any for my own use? If the sum is not more than £2I5, please oråer trem for me at once, If they are very expensive I will order them for one of the libraries here if I get more detail information with regard to their value. I got a letter from Andersson the other day, but he said nothing about the Pliocene fossils I sent him. Will you remind him of it when you write? Is it true that he is coming out to Japan? Yours sincerely, ” Aug (v.ktine)
