C., 1 Dear Nr, Hobson, Early this month, some few days after my return to Sweden we sent you the two neolithic pots of which I spoke to vou in London. Tne invoice was maliled to you directly by the shipping-firm, I hope it has reached you safely. We intend to restore for you one of the neolithic Li. tripods wnich will be shipped to you in due time, I now want to ask your strictly confidential advice con. cerning a problem whieh of late has become very important to us. ; Mr. R. Hultmark, a friend and supporter of this institute, has bought from YXamanaka tne two tig Weil horses which were exhibited in Berlin, catalogue-nimber 278, and he Nas very kindly deposited them Ån this museum, Very unfortunatle he did not consult us before making the arrangement with Yamanaka, otherwise I would have told him about the doubts expressed by Vignier,. When I first saw the horses in Berlin I was very much struck by their size and beauty and felt rather anxious to have the opinion of connoisseurs, When! I came kol to Berlin late in March I met Vignier in the exhibition. With usual vigour he expressed his very positive opinions about things, gopd and bad. Evidently he entertalined very great doubts about these beautiful horses and he based his hesitation
