December 6, 1929, Dr, J,.G, Andersson, Ostasiatiska Samlingarna, Sveavagen 65, Stockholm, Sweden, Dear Dr, Andersson:- Just a line to ask if you could let me have a renrint of your article "preliminary deserintion of a bone denosit at Chou Kou Tien in Fang Shan Hsien, Chihli Province" which was published in 1919 in Georgra- fiska Annaler Vol, 1, JI came across the reference in one of Zdansky's papers but there is no reprint to be had at the Geological Survev Library nor has any one here seen the article in question, I gather it is the original description of Che Ku Shan and I would very mueh like to have a copy, I have written to Nyström in Taiyuanfu in the hope that he may have a reprint for I want the exact reference to pages for inelusion in the bibliography of Teilhard and Young's preliminary account of the Chou Kou Tien area, I had a telegram from Pei from Chou Kou Tien yester- day saying he would be in Peking to-morrow bringing with him what he thinks is a complete Sinanthropus skull!! I hope it turns out to be true, Pei has done excellent work there this year and has discovered two more Sinanthronpus horizons, He has gone some 15 meters below the level of the original exposure and has just now uneovered a new cavern very rieh in fossils, The opening up of this new area will have to await the coming spring for it is too eold to carry on in the field all winter though Pei wants to do so, TI shall add a »oosteript to this to-morrow and let you know what are my first impressions of the new Sinanth ropus skull, with cdordial regards, as ever, Very sincerely yours, EAA Davidson Black, a Ps.
