I have not yet received your German edition or the photographs but registered post comes always a little late. E In my last letter I have already mentioned Dr. Wong's idea about the printing of the Palaeontologia Sinica, I have already suggested to Dr. Wong that efforts should be made to get more funds for the research on early man. A formal letter has been sent to the Rockerfellow people asking for funds, Black : seems to be in very good spirit. I have just received a long letter from him fritten on board the steamer carry: ng him to Canada. Threats were also used, That decided Yen's attitude towards Mukden. He rightly thirnks that 1f Mukden wipeg out Feng he will be the next one to be eliminated and attempts are made therefore to take the offensive, You have to remenber the Mukden party in spite of its military strength is more hateå than feared., The outcome of this struggle is still uncertaln, I think both Yen and Feng are not easily destroyed, The lack of probpper equipment is the only thing against them.The way in which Feng has been able to keep his men together under terrible haråshi fm ig quite marvelous, I have already read Maspero's "La Chine Anticue" with great interest and appreciation., I enclose a letter to ProF.
