0522, January 3rd, 1928 President Henry Fairfield Osborn, The American Museum of Natural History, TTtn St., and Cengral Park West, New York, EN : Dear President Osborn, In February 1923, thanks to your special ,.kindness, I recelved the honor of being elected a Corresponding Member of the American Museum of Natural History, for a period of five years, | During all this time I have enjoyed the very great privilege to receive your valuable publications, the Year Book and your journal, Natural History, Both of these publications have proved a remarkable impetus in my work, Thanks to the information re= ceived in your Year Books I have recently started a movement for the purpose of establishing here in Stockholm an educational de- partment on somewhat the same lines as the wonderful educational department attached to your museum, The Natural History has proved to my work even more important, especially with reference to the admirable work of the Andrews expedition in Mongolia. Thanks to the decision of our government a new musewn department, The East Asiatic Colleetions,/in Swedlsh, Östasiatiska Samlingarna/ was organized in 1926 to receive the arehaeological collections brought home by me from China. Ineluded in this institute is also a re- search library which has made fairly &g00d progress largely beceuse of donations made to us by foreign seientific institutions. Tie publications which I have received from the American Museum of Natural History have all been incorporated with our library, and I now most respectfully ask you kindly to favor this library with a continuation of your Year Book and the Natural History, possibly also your very importatt publications on the Mongolian expeditions, as my membership in your museum ex- pires with the next month, It goes without saying that we will be ex- ceedingly happy to present to the library of the American museum of Natural History the new serlal, Orientel Studies, the first volume of which will appear this year and which will deal with the archae- ology of the Far East Witna most respeciful thanks for RR me by your museum, and especially by Dr, Andröva ssd PeditCion, I have the honor to remain, dear President Osborn, Yours very respectfully,
