Even small photos (even Leica photos) would be very useful, 1f they are clear (we could have them enlarged here). Ag to Umehara”s book, I am anxious to know whether his specimens are such as have been excavated in Anyang by the Japanese (?) or they are fäimply specimens which Umehara guesses are from ÅAnyang. As to Huang Chlins work Ye chung p”ien yti ("Antiquities from Anyang"), we have the two fåret instalnente (series I and II) published before the war, but not the series III published in 1942. With my best wishes and kind regards Yours sincerely RE Se

66300 Stockholm dhba 4.10.44. Dear Professor Salmony, It is now a long time eince I had any chance of coming into contact with you. We have published 3 volumes of our Bulletin which we (would like to send you (vols. 14,15 and 16) all of which contain articles which I am sure would interest you. I shall avail myself of the earliest possible opportunity to forward them to you. Could you suggest any way by which that would be possible? It is very difficult to work without knowing anything of what is published in other countries. At present I am occupied with determining certain early weapons in our collections, for our museum catalogues. Has anything of importance in this field been published in America during these last years? There are two works which I know of but have been unable to procure. 1) Umehara, Selected Ancient Treasures found at Ånyang, Kyoto 1940. 2) Huang Chin, Ye chung p”ien yti III, Peking 1942. If these could be procurable for us in America and forwarded here, and 1f you could help us in getting them, I would deam it an exceedingly great kindness on your part, for which I would be very grateful indeed. Even if the postage costs were quite high, say even some 150 å 200 Swed. crowns, I should still be willing to pay them in order not to be held up in my museum work.
