D'Arm To day, only a couple of days after my last letter to you, I received the Hall report, for whieh I thank you heartily. - I have only perused it quickly at the moment, but shall study it more thoroughly; I have already got the impression that it is valuable and important. I leave Gothenburg for U.S.A. on May Sth, sö I shall pro- bably have no chance of seeing you here. Since I leave N.Y. for Europe only on July 3rd, I sincerely hope that I shall meet you in New York before that - it would be a dreadful disappointment to me 1f I were to miss you altogether; there are various things on which I should be very glad to hear your opinion. I hope that I have understood the procedure regarding the stipendiates correctly: I take it that the Stockholm university need not now submit any further petition regarding the proposed support for them during the second period of two years /1.10 1948- - 1.10 1950/, since they are to study in China and U.S.A. and during those years will have no direct connection with the univer- 00974
