094 November 9th, 1939. Kogan Paul, Trench,Trubner & CobLtd, Broadway House, Carter Lane 68-74, London, Dear Sirs, I håäve to thank you most sincerely for the 6 copies my book "Ohina fights for the World", which have juet reached me, I am very happy to eee the book in print as I feared that the outbreak of this deplorable war would eventually unfavour- ably influence your publishing activities, After having read wemefully the final chapter I feel that the book gives a fairly good presentation of the events of the Far East up to the end of this summer. For this reason I re= turn to my old scheme of trying to persuade the Chinese embassys in London and Washington to distribute a number of copies to in- fluencial statesmen and members of parliament in the twa countries. I refer to our earlier correspondence, January to March this year on this proposal. I also enclose copy of the letters which I now address to the two ambassadors. If the two ambassadors agrea to buy a number of copies for distribution purpose, are you willing to grant the Chinese contracting party a reduction of 204 and to me 254 as suggested of my letter of January 5.7?
