01784 Stockholm, February 27, 1939. Kegan Paul, Trench,,Trubner & Co Ltå., Broadway House, Carter Lane 68-74 E.C. lj. London. Dear Sirs, By a little mistake the typewritten very last part of my manuscript was sent by airmail the 27th. Herewith I enclose the last part of the Swedish manuseript. The typewritten English text sent last Saturday should be entered as continuation of page 36l as marked (0) You will see that the tyvewritten 8 rages sent last Saturday contain a condensed summary of the develsopments during the four months since I completed the Swerish text. These pages contain also a forecast for ' the outcome of the China-war., The compilation of these few pages has involved the reading of immense massessof newspapges and other te- ports from the Far East as well as all available materials on FEuropan political developments, I am very happy to clöse my English manuseript at this time when the outlook for China seems much brighter than when I completed the Swedish text, I had withheld our agreement as I foresaw that I bouåd not complete the new text to the end of January. I have now altered that date to the end of February and ask you kindly to make the corresponding alteration in the copy intended for me. If you prepare a man for the English edition please note the following remarks made to me by my friend the Minister of Economic Affairs in the Chiang Kai-shek Government. "The maps in this book have been evidently tasken from some older edition as clear from the inadequate representation of the railways
