C. 13 piecee of paleolithie implemente. > These are described in the separate pucking list. I hope you will receive thie consignment in good condition. Finally, there is a very interesting question that I should like to bring to your kind attention. I am not sure whether it is a mtter that will interest you personally but, if this should not be so, perhaps you Would be so kind as to pasa it om to someone, or some institution wo can deal with it. Heré in Java, a few years ago, there were found a few stone figures — of a very primitive desi £o primitive indeed that, it seems to me, LDey u. t certainly velong to a period long uwcfore that oc Hindu influence. I, myself, expect them $o be relics of a polynesian or,maybe, negroid cultures. Kost of the figures are human, some are of monkeys, others fantastic animls,- Eg. un insect with a human face. Theso figures were nearly all found in a small area of Java between Patjitan (East) und the river Progo (West) with, as a Korthern boundary, a line drawn E-V over the town of Djokjakarta and Soerakarta. I senå herewith sowe photo's and you will be doing me a great favour if you can give, or obtain for me, en opinion on theso fig I may say that I bave collected & few pieces and if you, or other seientific institution, should be interested I shull be happy to give some specimnons. Looking forsatdå to hearing from you, and with kindost regards, Youra sincerely, Lun NTA 2 packing list. 4 pnoto's. copyt Mr.B.0.Lohnan.= -
