OOH4 Stockholm, December 13, 1938. L.K. Professor Fu Si-nien, Academia Sinica, 663, To Tung Road, rlunnanfyu. China, Dear Professor Fu, Some time ago I sent you vol. 10 of our Bulletin, just published, and last year about this time I forwarded vol. 9 of the same publication. I wonder so much whether you have received them, and whether a letter I wrote to you last spring ever reached you. We all here, friends of China and of our Ohinese colleagues, are extremely anxious about the happings in the Far East. We find it wonderful that you have been able to sustain the onslaught in the heroic way which you have done, and that you häve endured it success- fully for such a long time. We fervently hope that better times will soon come, and that the new China will rise still stronger after this dreadful ordeal. Some weeks ago I received, from my bookseller in Peking, a new heft (7:4) of the Li shi yu yen tsi k'an. It is admirable that you are able to continue the learned activities in the midst of this catastrophe, and I wish to congratulate you on this account, I read with some astonishment the article by Tung T'ung-ho with polemåtes
