Dear Dr. Andersson:- Just a line to let you know that Boklin has got a tooth that I think is anthropoid. I have only seen the very excellent drawings which Bohlin sent me but I hope to go to Chou Kou Tien on Saturday and see the actual specimen itself. We are very much excited over the possibilities of its being a true great anthropoid but Prs. Ting and Wong agree with me that wa should say noihing in public about it till the Chou Xou Tien work has been finished. That we hope to have done in six weeks or so. Dr. Hong does not want to draw public attention to the work at this time till it is completed. I will write you later after I have studied the actual specimen carefully. The finding of this specimen makes it all the more desirable that we should have casts of ihe teeth which Dr. Wiman has. It is a very long time since he said he would kindly send us casts ant I am wondering if they could have been sent and lost on the way. Would it be too much to ask you to write Pr. Wiman and tell him again of our pressing need for the casts and to ask him if he could not sent them at once if he has not already done so? Professor Osborn has just sent me a very beauliful cast of ihe famous Hesperopithecus tooth. I am especially glad to have it at this time even though I knew there is still & question as to whether or not it is truly an anthropoid tooth. The Fengtien retreat has begfin but will not I hope interfere with our work at Chou Xou Tien. We are however sending all the material recoverad so far (about 20 boxes) to Peking by cart at once. I shall be glad when these ara safely stored in the Caenozoic laboratory. I have heard from Mrs. Black that she and the children and eameh arrived sefely in Toronto towards the end of April. It is a comfort to know they are well out of this present turmoil as we are likely to have a traffic tie up at any moment now. I miss you very much and I hope you äre now well rested and quietly at work again undisturbed by politics.
