The fibula has a short, thick bow, markedly leech-shaped, a pin twisted into double-spiral spring, and a long sheath terminating in two feline heads with long necks turned back over the end of the sheath and connected with it by a reel. The bow, except for its narrow underside, is decorated with a peculiar kind of filigree, consistning of minute pieces of slightly concave ribbon curved into tiny bow-spirals which are placed vertically in closely-set rows. Along the top of the sheath is series of four-petal rosettes between double borders, all made of similar bow-spirals. On either side of the bow is a five-petal rosette made of larger bow-spirals and punctuated by a globule. On the underside of the sheath is a pattern of heart-shaped ornaments in granulation. The manes and other details of the feline heads are indicated by lines of granulation, and on the reel are small clusters of granulation.
