There were lesser new acquisitions to the Museum of Ethnography during World War II (1939-1945). Because of the war situation the newly collected objects could not be shipped to Sweden without difficulty. In some cases during the war, items were purchased from antique dealers. That type of collection will contain one single or a few objects only. A collection that was donated or sold to the museum in the war period would sometimes have been owned for a long time in Sweden before entering the museum collection.
The collection 1945.07 was donated in the year of peace. The donor was Carl Oscar Borg, an artist working in USA and Sweden. In the showcase there are some pottery vessels from Pre-Columbian pueblos (villages) in the southwest area, one from Honduras and an ethnographic clay figurine – today an antique piece - from the southwest area. All these items are from the collection of Carl Oscar Borg, 1945.07.
