"Fig. 192 shows another type of fetish, which batwa say they use when hunting. The one pictured consists of a 29 cm. long antelope horn, which was wound round and round with tendons. Between the winding and the horn there are a number of different objects, such as pieces of wood, pieces of leather, etc. Near the mouth of the horn are 8 glass beads, and at the tip are attached the upper half beak of a seabird and a wooden cylinder, on which the bark is still partially left. The horn is filled with magic medicine, and in it are small wooden slats of about 3.5 cm in length inserted. Such wooden slats have sat close together in a ring around the mouth of the horn; most, however, are extinct, only 5 remain. This fetish has hung in the swamp huts for so long that it is completely black with smoke." (p. 307, von Rosen, 1916, translated from Swedish).

"Fig. 193 shows a particularly interesting object. It consists of a few different "medicines" required for the manufacture of a hunting fetish of the type shown in Fig. 192. The swamp of which I purchased the object had probably not yet succeeded in acquiring all the ingredients of such a hunting fetish. but had, however, come a long way with his collection. The ball net on the right consists of antelope tendons and pieces of leather, and on the string on the left are 6 small pieces of leather, probably the antelope strings, threaded. At the end of the string is a 16.8 cm. long wooden stick tied. The ball itself has a length of 13.5 cm." (pp. 307-308, von Rosen, 1916, translated from Swedish).

The horn is wound with tendons with seven strung glass beads. At the tip of the horn a knotted piece of wood and the upper part of the beak from the seabird.
