Name and identification of character
An ordinary villager, gamaya (Sin.).
Context
A villager appearing in the story called Gama Kathava (Sin.) in Kolam.
Material
Wood, Vel-kaduru (Nux vomica).
Iconography
A small mask. Red and black colours are mixed. A twisted cloth in form of a talappava (Sin.) (turban) is worn on the head, which appears to have been decorated with a colour design earlier on. The eyes are badly sculpted and the usual slits below the eyes (for the dancer to look through) are fairly large. A straight nose. The grimacing teeth and the protruding lips convey traits of a simpleton. There are no ears.
Damages: A hole on the right cheek. Paint on the face and turban is partly erased.
