The drummer's young brother, Podi Panikkale (Sin.).
Context
He appears in the humorous skit involving the drummer's family (vide Preface). The head drummer is called Maha Panikkale (Maha means big or head). Unlike Cukkiniya (cf. 1916.9.81), Podi Panikkale accompanies the elder brother in the drumming.
Material
Wood, vel-kaduru (Sin.) (Nux vomica).
Iconography
The turban is indicative of the uramava (Sin.) (the kind of turban that the drummers wear; a firmly tied piece of white cloth with the ends dangling) of a very low height, with the two ends hanging down. The turban is painted with two rows of geometrical designs. The face is painted in pink. The nose is somewhat flat and broad. The eyes are sharp. The mouth is small with one row of small teeth painted in white and demarcated by thin black lines. The ears are small.
