Moulded, flaring rim; concave neck; bulging shoulder; ovoid body, tapering downwards; rounded, vertical handles from neck to shoulder; hollow base. Pale red clay; black glaze; ochre wash. Rim top reserved; on shoulder/body on both sides a figured panel framed above by a chain of lotus buds and dots between bands, by vertical borders of connected pomegranates to the right and to the left, and below...

Moulded, flaring rim; concave neck; bulging shoulder; ovoid body, tapering downwards; rounded, vertical handles from neck to shoulder; hollow base. Pale red clay; black glaze; ochre wash. Rim top reserved; on shoulder/body on both sides a figured panel framed above by a chain of lotus buds and dots between bands, by vertical borders of connected pomegranates to the right and to the left, and below by a reserved band; A: Athena in stephane, aegis, mantle and himation with her helmet in the right hand and her spear in the left, turns her head towards a warrior (Diomedes) to the left; the latter holds a small image of the goddess Athena (the palladium) in his right hand; to the right another warrior (Odysseuss); both men carry circular shields and spears, are bearded and wear cuirasses and short chitons; Diomedes wears a Corinthian type helmet, Odysseus a crested helmet with flaps; B: in the centre a woman in chiton and himation, conversing with a man to the left; both men are bearded, are draped in himatia and have staffs leaning against their sides; the man to the left holds a rounded object in his right hand, the man to the right holds a small object, a flower (?), in his right hand; rays on lower body; underside reserved.
