Detached page from a Shah-u-Gada manuscript. Recto, the scene showing the prince fighting his enemies. The prince comes in from the right followed by a servant, the enemy comes in from the left holding a cut-off head in his hand. In the foreground a battle between the two armies is taking place and cut off heads and half bodies are spread all over the picture. The frame is broken in the top part by the upper part of a tent and in the right side by a horse. Upper part, two empty rectangles in reserve, probably destined for some text. Verso, two columns of six compartments each one holding a line of nasta’liq. geometrical organisation creating the corner-squares again and also text diagonally. Recto-verso outlined by a polychrome frame and a goldflaked margin. Rigid paper album.
